Volunteerism
Volunteering is valued highly and encouraged by MELCO. We are proud of the over 1,700 of volunteers who devote their personal time to the causes in the areas of youth, education, women, environment, responsible gaming, and cultural heritage every year. in 2019 Melco organized 99 volunteer activities and more than 3,700 hours of voluntary service. One example of our unique events is where our employees donated over 10,000 of their own mooncakes to the community, together with a warm touch by over 980 volunteer employees personally making the delivery door-to-door.
Back in 2009, a group of MELCO staff took their own initiative to start a charity bike ride campaign. A crew of thirty-eight enthusiastic representatives from various internal divisions inside MELCO participated in the charity bike ride pedaling from Northern Hainan to Southern Hainan for over fifteen hours amid a series of obstacles. Along with MELCO’s CSR strategy, this project aimed to raise funds to make a true impact on the lives of those less fortunate.
